Course description:
The objective of the programme is to provide candidates with an understanding of pre-school education and child development, as presented in the context of the candidates’ work experience in Singapore; and to present candidates with skills and practical knowledge to facilitate lesson-planning. It also enable them to collaborate with fellow colleagues, parents and other professional in supporting children’s cognitive and affective development and to stimulate and bring candidates’ attention to the important aspects and value of their work in relation to their contribution to the future of the Singapore society.
Entry requirements:
Applicant must be current or new MOE or MCYS registered teachers with completion of GCE ‘O’ Level credits in three different subjects including English as the first language or they should have a minimum band of 5.5 obtained in IELTS-General Training if applicant does not have a credit in EL1. New teachers with foreign qualifications must have completed at least 10 years of formal education; and passed an examination conducted by the country/ state with credits in three different subjects including EL1. Those without a credit in EL1 need to obtain a minimum band 5.5 in IELTS-General Training for entry to the CECCE course.
